Dungeon Guide:

Auchindoun

Auchindoun is the third of the new Dungeons available in Warlords of Draenor and is aimed at level 95-97 players. Located in Talador on Draenor. It has four bosses and is available in Normal, Heroic and Challenge Modes.

On this page you'll find tactics for each boss, the achievement list, garrison quests, tactics video and map.

Boss 1 - Vigilant Kaathar (Construct)


An Eternal Protector who patterns searing light into the ground and hurls massive shield-arms.


No! No! No! not that horrible stuff some of us cough up in the morning...


Abilities

  1. Holy Shield - Inflicts Holy DMG on impact & blocks sight and movement for 30 sec.
  2. Consecrated Light - Channels power, dealing increased Holy DMG to all enemies every second for 9 sec.
  3. Sanctified Strike - Holy energy, dealing Holy DMG to anyone in the Sanctified Ground.
  4. Hallowed Ground - Creates a patch of Hallowed Ground, deals 20 000 Holy DMG to enemies within 8 yards when triggered.
  5. Heroic Mode Only: Fate - Focuses pious energy, erupting all of the Hallowed Ground immediately.

Tactics here are to move around as the ground becomes hallowed. This will avoid heavy damage as the ground will detonate after a period of time. It starts a a fairly large area, and then reduces in size.


Important! - Its essential that when the boss casts his light spell, players should line of sight, behind the shield. Its important to only move behind the shield once the spell is begun, as moving too early may cause hallowed ground to form behind the shield (in the safe area).


DPS
- Take shelter behind the Holy Shield to prevent damage by Consecrated Light.

Healers
- Take shelter behind the Holy Shield to prevent damage by Consecrated Light.

Tanks
- Take shelter behind the Holy Shield to prevent damage by Holy Shield.
- Keep the Vigilant at a safe distance from his Holy Shield so that other players can hide from Consecrated Light.

Boss 2 - Soulbinder Nyami (Draenei)


A priestess corrupt and in league with the Shadow Council. She uses the spirits of of the dead to attack players!


I have had a hard time thinking about Priestess jokes, but it did make me think of a priest and a bad pint of guinness for some reason. Yup, with both of those, if you get a bad one - it could have serious repercussions for your tail end!


Abilities

Soulbinder Nyami

  1. Mind Spike - Direct Shadofrost DMG worth 18 500 . (Interruptable)
  2. Shadow Word: Pain - Causes 10 000 Shadow DMG initially, adds 3500 Shadow DMG damage every 1.5 sec, over 9 sec. Needs to be Dispelled.
  3. Soul Vessel - Twists the souls of fallen Draenei forming multiple Tori of Shadow DMG at a specific location. The epicenter of this ability is safe from damage.
  4. Torn Spirits - Rips the spirits out of fallen Auchenai partisans, forcing them to fight.

Spiteful Arbiter

  1. Arbiter's Hammer - Stuns a player & deals Holy DMG to other players within 5 yards for 2 sec.(
    Interruptable)
  2. Radiant Fury - Charges a player, causing prisms that deal 12 500 Holy DMG on contact.

Twisted Magus

  1. Arcane Bolt - Deals 17 000 Arcane damage.(Interruptable)
  2. Arcane Bomb - Focuses energy into power orbs. Upon contact or after 10 sec, these orbs explode and deal 9 000 DMG within 5 yards.

Malefic Defender

  1. Crusader Strike - Deals 8000 DMG to a player % increases DMG taken by 1% for 15 sec. This effect stacks.

The tactics at the beginning of the fight are to maximise the damage on the boss, interrupts should be used on mind spike, the arbiters hammer and Magus’s bolt when possible. Kill the adds as priority. All players must move into the Soul Vessels epi-centre . Cleansing should take place on the Shadow Word: Pain. Do all of that, and the loot is in the bag,, baby!


DPS
- Interrupt Arbiter's Hammer and Arcane Bolt.

Healers
- Soul Vessel inflicts high damage to players standing outside the protective zone. Be ready to provide group heals.

Tanks
- Tank additional enemies summoned by Torn Spirits.

Boss 3 - Azzakel (Demon)


On Argus - the former homeworld of the draenei, now the stronghold of the Burning Legion - Azzakel waits, poised for a servant of the Legion to open a portal to one of the countless worlds they seek to invade.


25: 17, the path of the righteous man is beset on all sides, by the tyranny of evil men, Blessed is he who walks through the valley of the shadow of death…. Say ‘What’ one more Goaddamn time! I Dare you! I double Dare you!


This is a two stage encounter. Phase 1 is a direct attack on the boss, while the Phase 2 is dealing with summoned demons.


Abilities

  1. Fel Lash - Deals Physical DMG and knocks the targeted player back. Increases the player's Physical damage taken by 20% for 6 sec.
  2. Curtain of Flame - Engulfs a player in flames, Deals 10 000 Fire DMG to the affected player every 4.5 sec for 9 sec. This will also spread to other players within 5 yards of the affected.
  3. Claws of Argus - Immunity to damage, opens a portal to the demon homeworld.
  4. Malevolent Crash - Creates a pool of Fel energy.
  5. Fel Pool - Deals 8000 Fire damage every 1 sec.
  6. Heroic Mode Only: Fel Spark - Tendrils of Fel reach out from a Fel Pool, this leaves patches of flame on the ground, which deal 25 000 Fire damage every 1 sec. to any players within them.

Demons

Blazing Trickster

  1. Conflagration - Intense flames burn any player who comes too close. This will disorientate the target and cause them 6000 Fire DMG every sec. for 2.50 sec.

Cackling Pyromaniac

  1. Felblast - A blast of Fel fire, dealing 40 000 Fire DMG to the target. ( Interruptable.)

Felguard

  1. Fel Stomp - Deals 53 000 Physical DMG to all players in front of the caster & knocks them back.

Essentially the group should prioritise killing Pyromaniacs. Use Stuns, interrupts and CC here. do not attempt to kill the Tricksters, just avoid them. If two Pyro’s are active, co-ordinate who is interrupting. Red spawns indicate a Trickster spawn and Green spawns are Pyro’s coming.Deal with the demons and hammer the boss in between, jobs a good un!


DPS
- Maximise your Damage at the beginning of the fight using cooldowns.
- If you are affected by the Curtain of Flame, stay clear of other players.
- Prioritise DPS on Cackling Pyromaniacs and help interrupt the Felblast when possible.
- Finally stay away from Fel Pools and the Tricksters.

Healers
- Focus healing on those players affected by the Curtain of Flame.
- Be mindful of heavy spike damage if the Tank has the Boss and a Felguard at the same time.
- Stay clear of anyone affected by the Curtain of Flame.
- Help interrupt Cackling Pyromaniacs if possible.
- Finally stay away from Fel Pools and the Tricksters.

Tanks
- The boss should be positioned so that when Fel Lash is cas, the knockback hits you into the barrier on the platform.
- Felguards should be taunted when they appear and you should help to nuke down the Cackling Pyromaniacs when they spawn.
- Finally, the tank should move the boss away from Fel Pools and the Tricksters as they spawn.
- Tank-Centric or what??!

Boss 4 - Teron'gar (Orc)


Working alongside the Sargerei, Gul'dan's agent Teron'gor plots to feast upon the bounty of souls contained within the barriers of the holy mausoleum of Auchindoun.


A Warlock of Supreme power. But wheres the Voidwalker?


A difficult encounter which results in a random outcome.
Once at 75% of his health, he will switch into one of the three Warlock specs.


Abilities

Pre-Switch - before 75% health

  1. Shadow Bolt - Deals 50 000 Shadow DMG to target. ( Interruptable.)
  2. Corruption - Deals 23 500 Shadow DMG every 3 sec. for 18 sec.
  3. Drain Life - Deals 36 000 Shadow DMG every 3 sec. for 6 sec. Each time it deals damage it also restores 3% of the caster's health. ( Interruptable.)
  4. Rain of Fire - A meteor rain dealing 23 000 Fire DMG to players in the area ever 2 sec. for 8 sec. ( Interruptable.)
  5. Heroic Mode Only: Summon Abyssal - The caster calls down a Felborne Abyssal that relentlessly pursues a chosen target.
    • Felborne Abyssal - These infernal creatures fixate on a single target and pursue them relentlessly.

Warlock Specs

Demonology

  1. Curse of Exhaustion - Reduces the targets movement speed by 70%.for 10 secs.
  2. Demonic Leap - Deals 37 000 DMG to any players within 10 yrd of the impact zone.
  3. Chaos Wave - A Wave of energy deals 30 000 Chaos DMG to any player caught in its wake.
  4. Doom - Deals 50 000 Shadow DMG every 15 sec.
  5. Tough of Chaos - Deals 37 000 Chaos damage.
  6. Corruption - Deals 23 500 Shadow DMG every 3 sec. for 18 sec.

Destruction

  1. Chaos Bolt - 60 000 Chaos DMG. ( Interruptable.)
  2. Immolate - 28 000 fire DMG every 3 secs for 18 secs.
  3. Conflagrate - Deals 42 000 Fire DMG and reduces the targets movement by 50% for 8 secs.
  4. Incinerate - Deals 55 000 Fire DMG. ( Interruptable.)
  5. Rain of Fire - A meteor rain dealing 23 000 Fire DMG to players in the area ever 2 sec. for 8 sec.

Affliction

  1. Agony - Deals 4000 Shadow DMG every 2 secs, however increase DMG dealt each time.
  2. Seed of Malevolence - Deals 17500 Shadow DMG every 3 sec. for 18 sec. If the target dies, or after 18 sec, the seed will explode, inflicting 17 500 Shadow damage to all targets within 10 yards of them, and applying Seed of Malevolence to them.
  3. Curse of Exhaustion - Reduces the targets movement speed by 70% for 10 secs.
  4. Unstable Affliction - Deals 20000 Shadow DMG to the target every 2 sec for 14 sec. If dispelled, it detonates, dealing 20000 Shadow DMG to the dispeller - silencing them for 4 sec. Do NOT Dispel!
  5. Shadow Bolt - Deals 50 000 Shadow DMG to target. ( Interruptable.)
  6. Drain Life - Deals 36 000 Shadow DMG every 3 sec. for 6 sec. Each time it deals damage it also restores 3% of the caster's health. ( Interruptable.)

DPS
- Move away from both Rain of Fire and Chaos Wave.
- If possible interrupt Chaos bolt, Rain of Fire, Drain Life and Incinerate.
- Maximise DPS in the Second Phase.
- If you are targeted by Seed of Malevolence, run away from the rest of your party as the debuff nears completion to avoid spreading Seed of Malevolence to nearby players
- Ranged DPS should spread out to avoid the Demonic Leap.

Healers
- Dispel Drain Life, Corruption, Curse of Exhaustion and Immolate.
- Its important not to dispel Unstable Affliction.
- Heavy damage will occur to players affected by the seed of Seed of Malevolence, Agony and Doom.
- Stay away from the Rain of Fire and Chaos Wave.

Tanks
- Move away from both Rain of Fire and Chaos Wave.
- If possible interrupt Chaos bolt, Rain of Fire, Drain Life and Incinerate.

...They All Fall Down - Defeat Soulbinder Nyami after defeating 12 fallen Auchenai protectors within 3 seconds in Auchindoun on Heroic difficulty.
Demon's Souls - Defeat Azzakel in Auchindoun on Heroic difficulty without killing any other demons during the encounter.
No Tag-backs! - Defeat Teron'gor in Auchindoun on Heroic difficulty while under the effects of Curtain of Flame.
Auchindoun - Defeat Gug'rokk in the the Auchindoun.
Heroic: Auchindoun - Defeat Gug'rokk in the the Auchindoun on Heroic difficulty.
Heroic: Auchindoun Guild Run - Defeat Gug'rokk in the the Auchindoun on Heroic difficulty while in a Guild Group.
Auchindoun Challenger - Complete the Auchindoun Challenge Mode.
Auchindoun: Bronze - Complete the Auchindoun Challenge Mode with a rating of Bronze or better.
Auchindoun: Silver - Complete the Auchindoun Challenge Mode with a rating of Silver or better.
Auchindoun: Gold - Complete the Auchindoun Mines Challenge Mode with a rating of Gold -
